FAQ

How do I become a Force.com ISV Partner?
Visit http://developer.force.com/isv for more details.

How many orgs can I sign-up for?
All of them and multiple times if needed. We want to be sure you have the necessary tools to succeed. You may want to have a separate test/demo environment for your Developers vs. QA vs. Sales

How long will these orgs last?
Developer Edition organizations continue to be available as long as these organizations have some type of activity within the previous six months. Partner Developer Edition, Enterprise/Platform Edition and Professional Edition will last for 1 year. However, they can be renewed during your annual security review.

Can I use the Enterprise/Platform Edition or Professional Edition org as my company production org?
NO! These orgs are for developing, testing and demonstrating your Force.com app. Signing-up requires your acceptance of our agreement, which outlines these orgs are NOT for production use.

Can I upgrade my existing DE org to Partner Developer Edition?
No, Partner Developer Edition is a brand new 20-user DE org. If you want to migrate your work from DE to Partner Developer Edition, you will need to use the Force.com IDE or Packaging.

I have created a Managed Package and I want to test my Beta version, but I don't have sandbox, where can I test this?
You have 3 options:

  1. Enterprise/Platform Edition - This edition contains 3 Sandbox orgs that can be used to test Beta Managed Packages.
  2. Partner Developer Edition - This large DE org is another great option, because Beta Managed Packages traditionally can be installed and tested in Sandbox and/or DE orgs
  3. Professional Edition - Finally, this enhanced PE org will allow the installation of Beta Managed Packages, so you can ensure your released Managed Package app will work against PE

I'm looking for a certain feature that needs enabling, what do I do?
