Uninstalling the Force.com IDE

The Force.com IDE is installed as a plug-in to the Eclipse Platform. Follow these instructions to disable or remove the Force.com IDE from Eclipse.

Disabling the Force.com IDE Plug-in

1. Delete any Force.com projects from your workspace by right-clicking on the project folder and selecting Delete. This will not delete components from the server.


2. Open the Eclipse Product Configuration window by clicking Help > Software Updates > Manage Configuration.


3. In the left nav, select the Force.com IDE xxx plug-in, then in the right click Disable.


4. You will be prompted to restart Eclipse. Click Yes.


Uninstalling the Force.com IDE Plug-in

To proceed with a full uninstall, complete steps 1-4 above then continue with the steps below.

5. After restarting Eclipse, reopen the Product Configuration window by clicking Help > Software Updates > Managed Configuration.

6. Click the Show Disabled Features icon (Image:ide33_uninst_6_show_disables_features_icon.png) and expand the nodes in the left nav to reveal the disabled Force.com IDE plug-in.


7. Select the disabled Force.com IDE xxx plug-in, then in the right click Uninstall. Click OK to continue and again to restart Eclipse.
